Golf is an ever popular game, more and more people play it every year, but unfortunately by not observing some golf swing basics many people do not play very well.

Golf is a game of many parts and the main challenge is to become competent in all areas, especially the short game.

The driver is the longest club in the bag but is difficult to hit well consistently even Tiger Woods occasionally pulls one into the trees, so for beginners there is only a slim chance of hitting the fairway on a consistent basis. Many people opt for a 3 or even 5 wood when starting out, they have more loft and are easier to hit.

There is a commonly-held belief that golf is the pastime and sport of entrepreneurs and businessmen. It also has the reputation of being exclusive and elite and not being available to ordinary blue collared workers. However, this is not really true, since modern technology and globalization have brought this so-called elite sport into the realm of normal people.

This is because you don’t need to acquire expensive equipment to play. Unlike big game fishing and polo which require a lot of resources – a boat or a horse respectively, golfers just need a set of golf clubs, which are affordable these days. With this in mind, retirement gifts for golfers and aspiring ones are more easily thought of.

All over the world, fans follow their favorite golf athletes in the different tournaments that they participate in. Who has not heard of pro golfer Tiger Woods who reportedly made $110 million in 2008 alone? Of course, he was not born with a club in his hands. He had to learn to be the most admired and highest earning sports professional in the world. It was a long process filled with patience, determination and desire. Is it attainable to become a pro golfer like Woods? Of course! It is actually much easier to learn the ins and outs in golf now that anyone can attend golf school. Watching sports channels, we may have become familiar with the different kinds of clubs, when to use a wood and when to use a putter, what the difference is between a drive and a chip and how the game is scored. However, more than these basics, there are more to learn. There is a wide gap between getting a perfect score in a golf quiz and getting ten strokes over par. Its just like driving; knowing what the street signs mean does not guarantee you can drive a vehicle. There is more to just plain concepts.

Jumping higher is key to winning any sport that favors tall people. You don’t have to be born tall to be a great athlete, you just have to be able to jump higher than they can jump. If you learn how to jump higher you will be a great teammate for any team.

What are some good exercises to increase jump height?

First you must understand that you need sufficient leg strength before you should start doing any sort of jumping program.

Once your legs are strong enough you need to then start a plyometric training program.

Which is worse, hearing “Fore!” or four over par on your scorecard? Many people who play golf do so with a hope that their game will improve over the last round they shot. Chances are if you sliced the ball all over the course the last time, you are going to do it again. Improving your game and hitting the ball straight is possible if you just take into account why you are slicing the ball in the first place.

I have been searching for a driver better then my current one, a perfect driver if you will. I can now say my searching is over since I have tried a R580XD. How can you say this you may ask? Well I have tried Ping G5,Titleist 905R, Taylormade R5 and the Ben Hogan Big Ben CS3 drivers and personally R580XD is the best.

All were 9.5 with stiff flex shafts. I have played the Ben Hogan CS3 for the last 3 years. It was always consistant but tended to be a higher ball flight and shorter distance than I cared for. I just lived with knowing I could put it in the fairway but not be as long as I should.

Perfect Your Golf Slice

by Soan Keel

Which would you prefer: to have four over par on your scorecard, or hear a shout of “Fore!”? The answer is obvious. Golfers undoubtedly want their score to improve over previous rounds of play. But the reality is that if you’ve been slicing the ball in previous rounds, you’ll probably continue to do it unless you take corrective measures. But, you can get better, provided you figure out what is causing you to slice the ball in the first place.
