« Golf Software to Improve Your Game   Hebridean Vacations The Isle of Harris »

by Will Davies

Most golfers would like to improve their golf swing to some degree, but with so many books and guides to choose from how do you know which would be best suited to you. This article takes a look at one such guide which has been very popular in recent times.

The Simple Swing was written by David Nevogt in 2006 and since that time it has been bought by people in over 30 countries around the world. David makes some pretty big claims about what you can achieve by reading his book and putting the techniques in to practice. He says that most people who read the book will cut 7 shots from their game – even more if you’re a high handicap player – and the success rate is meant to be about 95%.

Apparantly the biggest problems that golfers have when it comes to their game are slicing the ball, not hitting the ball far enough or general inconsistency. David decided to try and develop a more simple swing (I suppose less can go wrong if you don’t have as much to think about) that would get rid of these problems for the majority of golfers. He addressed this task in a scientific way and the result was The Simple Swing.

I took up golf fairly late in life – in my late thirties to be precise. I started playing with a friend of mine and it was this friend who first introduced me to The Simple Golf Swing. We used to play together quite reglarly and were around the same mediocre level. We both used to score in the low nineties but couldn’t get below the magic 90. Then one day having not played together for a few weeks we played at our local club and to say I was shocked was an understatement.

My friend had the round of his life and shot 84. I thought it was just luck but then he told me about this book he’d bought online and how he’d been practising the techniques so of course I went straight home and got a copy for myself and the rest as they say is history.

I practised hard over the next four or five weeks and brought my score down to the mid eighties. I probably knocked about 9 shots off my game through being more consistent and hitting the ball further. Some of the advice given in The Simple Swing will proabably be at odds with what you currently believe. Would you think that, for example, reducing your back swing could make your drives longer? And David has a great way to get you to hit more greens.

There are testimonials galore on David’s website. All from golfers talking about their incredible results with The Simple Swing system. I thought it all sounded a bit too good but he offers you your money back if you aren’t 100% satisfied after 8 weeks.

If you want to improve your golf swing and you’d like a guide that’s clear to follow and understand and that offers you a system that is easy to implement then look no further. This book is about as perfect as you will get.
