If you think Cabo San Lucas is just for beach lovers, scuba diving enthusiasts and travelers, Cabo San Lucas also boasts its championship golf courses for those who love the sport.
In fact, Cabo San Lucas had started putting up its championship golf courses back in the 90s. Since then, world-class golf courses were built. Cabo now proudly welcomes golfers in its six championship golf courses.
The very 1st golf course in Los Cabos was designed by no less than the famous Hall of Famer Jack Niclaus after being commissioned by Don Koll, a successful developer and dedicated golfer. It was located in Palmilla Resort.
Having their first golf course in the area gave Los Cabos an extraordinary success that leads to the making of many other golf courses. Jack Niclaus also had the chance to design a couple of golf courses more for Los Cabos after the first one in Palmilla.
The other famous golf courses aside from the one in Palmilla are the Golf at the The Raven designed by Roy Dye which has 18 holes, the Golf Cabo del Sol Desert Course designed by Tom Weiskopf which is rated as the best in Los Cabos and top 10 of the best in the world according to Golf Digest, the Cabo Real Golf Club which has 18 holes and designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., the El Dorado and Querencia Golf Courses which was designed by Jack Niclaus and Tom Facio respectively.
The list continues. Another famous golf course, Golf Cabo del Sol Ocean Course is also among the best in the world. It captured Gold Digest’s listing of the 10 top golf courses in the world. Two of its holes, the 5th and 17th holes, also captured Golf Magazine’s list of 500 best holes in the world. Golf Cabo del Sol was also designed by Jack Niclaus.
Because these golf courses in Cabo are world class and offer the best when it comes to golfing, they may cost a little expensive. Not a problem though. In these expertly designed golf courses, you will be getting your money’s worth.
Indeed, Cabo San Lucas is a haven not only for beach lovers and surfers and divers. Golfers also have their own paradise in the place called Cabo San Lucas.
