Golf Carts What for?

by Alex Mirabeau

Golf carts are the small electrically powered vehicles used to travel in golf fields when playing for large area games. These carts are generally used to carry two golfers and their clubs. The golf carts have evolved over time. They come in many models. Auto biggies such as Yamaha are also into golf cart making. They are accompanied by Ez go, Club car and many more. The demand for club cars has increased recently as people want to save energy by not walking, which would enable them to concentrate more on their game.

Before, people used to think that walking through the golf course from one put to the other used to give them the essence of the game. Whereas nowadays golfers think that golf carts are integral part of the game. Golf carts of recent days are now equipped with audio systems which help the golfers relax and enjoy their soda from the cooler which is also a part of the cart.

Also, one can carry food, snacks, soda, or beer along for a time of refreshes in the course of game or when moving from one hole to another. The cart can also help you rest on it in a summer time, and give you shade in case it is too hot at times during the game. Currently, there are three dominant types of golf carts in market: Yamaha, EZ Go and Club Car. Engines of these golf carts are usually powered by low power engines or electrically charged engines. The electric golf carts were a huge hit in the initial release and became the first mass-produced electric vehicle for private consumer purpose in the world.

Some golf carts are powered with small gas engines while others are electrically powered. The electric golf carts were the first mass-produced electric vehicles for private consumer use. Modern golf carts may have car-like styling despite being no bigger than a traditional golf cart. Accessories such as audio entertainment systems, custom wheels, and custom body panels in an assortment of colors are now being offered as choices for the personal golf cart.

Golf carts aren’t just used on the golf course. Some small communities or neighborhoods will use a golf cart where their lack of pollutants, lack of noise, and safety for pedestrians and other cars are beneficial. While purpose-built for general transportation, these are called Neighborhood Electric Vehicles and they have various operating limitations such as top speed and heavy regulation on street use. They do resemble traditional golf carts in style, but some are enclosed to accommodate for use in all types of weather.

The carts do have speed restrictions though such as, top speed must not exceed a certain threshold limit. Also, there are regulations and rules on the use of such low speed vehicles on streets. The carts do look like the usual golf carts but also have suitable enhancements to adjust to the environment conditions. Golf carts have formed a large part in the market sales.

The power in golf carts is very limited. The maximum speed that a golf cart can achieve is limited and if this is crossed, may result in engine seize. Also there are strict rules in all places not to use golf carts on roads since they are very slow compared to other motor vehicles and golf carts are also sensitive and more vulnerable for use on roads. However golf carts still have taken a great share in the consumer market of vehicles and due to the new custom designing option, the spare parts and enhancement parts have been in high demand too. The sale of Golf carts has now become a prime category of the market sales.
