Golf In BC Can Provide A Memorable Experience For All
Posted by Steven Green in Golf Books
Some of the best golf courses in Canada are found in BC. There are BC golf courses suitable for all sorts of golfers: from the avid amateur, to the first-time golfer, to the golf tourist.
We have seen and played many golf courses in BC, and through our travels and from reading the reviews posted by golfers who have booked through our service, we can highly recommend the golf courses listed here. Consider this our Golf BC Must Play List.
Vancouver Golf Courses — About 30-minutes north of Vancouver BC, you with find Furry Creek Golf Club. This is one of our favorite golf courses in the province, and we have written about it on our blog previously. Furry Creek is on the road to Whistler BC. Nestled between mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Furry Creek is a breathtaking golf experience. While there are many holes that are memorable, the signature hole is the 14th hole where you play out into the ocean. If you a skilled golfer, your shot-making will be rewarded. If you are less skilled, well you will have to settle for watching the eagles soar overhead.
Golf on Vancouver Island: Vancouver Island golfing is an all-year pursuit, one of the only places in Canada where that is possible. Our choice for a must play is Olympic View Golf Club in Victoria BC. You play on the edge of nature and this BC golf course lives up to its tag line of Tranquility & Nature. You are likely to encounter a deer on your round somewhere, and each hole is an individual golf masterpiece. There are 2 waterfalls on the course and eagles and seabirds overhead. Enjoy your round at Olympic View Golf Club.
Okanagan Golf: Our choice is Gallagher’s Canyon Golf & Country Club. Ranked among the top 50 golf courses in Canada, Gallagher’s Canyon lets you play in and through a steep canyon while being surrounded by ponderosa pine. Afterward, sipping some Kelowna wine in the golf clubhouse is an added benefit.
Rocky Mountain Golf: In the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in the Kootenay town of Panorama BC, is our choice for the BC must play for the Rocky Mountain region: the Greywolf Golf Course. We are not the only ones to think this way it seems for Greywolf has been honored as one of the “Best New Courses” in the past and has been recently named as the “Best in BC” and a “Top 10 in Canada” by Golf Digest. If you are looking for the best golf courses in B.C., then make sure you include Greywolf on your list of BC golf courses that should not be missed.
