Unfortunately, the negative aspect of playing golf is that you have to carry your equipment around. Finding a good golf bag is hard and the choice is up to your individual likes and needs. Unless you are a pro golf player, you won’t have a caddy to carry your bag. Also, the prices and the features on golf bags usually vary. Thus, in this article you can compare different golf bags based on their benefits and drawbacks.

There are different types of golf bags you can choose from. First is the carry bag. This bag is the most basic and common type of golf bag that is cheaper compares to other type of bag. Its diameter can range from 5 to 8.5 inches and its weight is only 3.5lbs. All top manufacturers manufacture this bag with high quality. This bag is also comfortable to carry around because of its double strap feature that divides the weight of the bag over both shoulders.

The second one is the pencil or Sunday bag. Pencil bags are popular. They are light, thinner versions of a carry bag that has up to 6 inches of diameter and can hold up to 14 clubs. They have slim design for ease of storing in a locker or car. It offers only little protection in rain, thus they are only great on warm and dry day.

Stand bags are similar to a carry bag on size. The stand bag can stand to hold your bag off the ground. When place on the ground, its two legs will spring out to stand nicely at your side, so keeping your bag from getting dirty. It is also easier to take out clubs using this bag. When choosing a stand bag, check the stability and quality of the stand. It is slightly expensive compare to a carry bag.

Fourth type is the cart bag. Cart bag are design perfectly to be carried on a golf cart. It is fairly large so that it can fit on an electric or push trolley. It is commonly use by older golfers and lady golfers. The pockets of a cart bag are found mostly at one side so that valuables, waterproofs, covers, balls etc. can easily be access. Compare to carry or stand bag, it is more rigid.

The largest type of golf bag is the tour bag. It is around 10 inches in diameter and weigh up to 45lbs. The bag is design to accommodate the large amount of space needed by tour players for their extra clothing, waterproofs, gloves, refreshments, balls etc. It is not recommend for players without a caddy.

The sixth and the last one is the travel bag. This bag is designed for traveling. It gives a good protection for your luggage. Travel bags can come in hard or soft cases. The hard bag is very stiff that cannot fit into the back of a car. For ease of transportation, it is best that your travel bag has wheel.
